TWO DAYS INSPIRATION

Day One

MORNING:

After a hearty Yorkshire breakfast, head off early up to the mighty Cow and Calf Rocks. The rocks are an iconic local landmark and offer spectacular views of Ilkley and beyond. From here there are walks in all directions across the moors.

If you choose a circular route on your return you’ll find a café in the car park next to the rocks, or there’s the Cow and Calf pub just over the road.

AFTERNOON:

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon strolling round the shops on the elegant tree-lined streets of The Grove and Brook Street, where you’ll discover a fantastic mix of quality independents and upmarket boutiques. When you’re ready for refreshments the afternoon tea at Bettys is the ultimate experience.

EVENING:

For evening entertainment King's Hall & Winter Gardens host a wide range of events including family shows, must-see music concerts, inspiring talks and performing arts.


Day Two

MORNING:

Start the day exploring the hidden history of the town. Ilkley blossomed in the 19th century when visitors came to take the waters and breathe the fresh Yorkshire air. Download the Discover Ilkley app for an augmented reality trail around the town where you can find out more about the towns’ history and visit some it’s most historic sites, including the characterful Manor House and the remains of the Roman fort of Olicana.

Stop by Lishman's on Leeds Road for lunch on the go, this celebrated butcher and deli serves delicious hot sandwiches, fresh pork pies and continental charcuterie boards, and is just round the corner from the Riverside Gardens the perfect scenic lunch location.

AFTERNOON:

If the weather is good then head over to Ilkley Lido for an outdoor dip with the ultimate view of Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf Rocks. If you’d prefer to stay indoors, why not try Clip ‘n Climb. Located in the centre of the town with challenges to suit all abilities it’s a great way to experience climbing in a safe and fun atmosphere.

EVENING:

Enjoy a memorable evening dining out at one of the excellent restaurants in the town. From the Box Tree, one of Yorkshire’s most renowned and iconic restaurants, to Portugeuse plates at La Quinta and quality pub grub at The Black Hat. There’s plenty of choice, but make sure you make a reservation in advance as Ilkley is a popular destination with diners!
