The Solar Gallery artists return on 4 May 2024 with their new theme: The Overlooked.

In the words of poet William Henry Davies, ‘A poor life this if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare’. Yes, how we are carried along by life’s demanding current, bypassing so many visually promising gems! However, now is the chance for the artists to stop, notice, and give the overlooked space in the spotlight.

Think about the understated beauty of crumpled paper or shredded cardboard in packaging. What about shadows of clouds on a hill or patches of light from a window? Consider all the female artists who have been overlooked in art history!

Finally, the artists can show you their new creations inspired by this theme using diverse mediums such as ceramics, paintings, sketches, photography, and more. Many of the works will be for sale, and the artists will be available to chat about their interpretations and their work.
