About

Robertshaw’s is a family business situated on a working sheep farm, in Thornton on the outskirts of Bradford. We have been producing and selling fresh food since 1929.

We have gone from selling potatoes and vegetables at the side of the road to having an award-winning Butchers, Delicatessen, Greengrocers, Larder and a range of beers, wines and spirits. We also have an offsite Bakery, where we produce our own pies, confectionery and our famous Yorkshire puddings.

We traditionally butcher our meat in the shop, with years of experience passed down through 4 generations. We pride ourselves on our top-quality beef, which is aged for 28 days. Our butchers are always on hand to help customers with expert advice on choosing the right cut of meat, and the best way to prepare and cook it.

Visit our Deli counter for award-winning homemade pies, locally made cheeses, home cooked and locally made cakes and pastries. We are proud that over 95% of our delicatessen counter is from Yorkshire and we make our own pies and pastries at our bakery.

Our Bakery Café serves home-cooked food which is prepared and cooked using ingredients sourced from our Farm Shop. Our breakfast menu is served all day and includes our homemade sausages, our home cured bacon and Yorkshire free range eggs. Our lunchtime menu includes light lunches and classic meals and there is also our famous Afternoon Tea!

We have a Garden Centre on-site that changes with the seasons. During Spring & Summer it is bursting with colourful plants and everything you need to get your garden ready for the warmer weather. In Autumn it changes into an indoor pumpkin patch with lots of Halloween fun and during Winter it is transformed into a Winter Wonderland, full of Christmas sparkle.

Make sure that you visit our Animal Croft while you are here. We have a wide range of animals, lovely views across the valley and best of all it's free to visit. Our outdoor area has lots of animals including goats, sheep, pigs and chickens. The birds are free range, and you’ll see them wandering around. They do have pens, but they are very friendly and love to say hello. Inside we have many animals for you to meet including rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, Billy the bearded dragon and our Shetland pony Lola.
