The Solar Gallery artists return on 14 September 2024 with their new theme: A Sense Of…
A Sense Of… presents a real opportunity to put the ball in the viewer’s court. It implies, “Over to you! Form your own personal idea of the senses you feel when looking at this artwork.”
There will be as many interpretations as there are viewers. The artists’ mission is to use visual language to suggest rather than describe. We regard descriptions as cold, like a police report—at 1800 hours, the vehicle proceeded at 90mph in a westerly direction. Whereas suggestion is the poet’s way—it sped into the sunset!
Yes, we have the power to engage full human capacities of imagination, sensory responses, memories, and ideas.
