This itinerary will take you on a journey from the past to the present day, from the epic machinery on display at the Bradford Industrial Museum to Salts Mill which has found a new purpose for the 21st century.
Morning
Journey back in time at the Bradford Industrial Museum. This former mill is now a free museum, the perfect place to experience the scale of Bradford's industrial past. Inside you'll discover working machinery, classic vehicles, workers cottages and the old mill owner's house.
Just a few minutes walk down the road is the peaceful Undercliffe Cemetery, with its stunning Victorian mausoleums. From this elevated position you will also enjoy panoramic views across the city. As you explore keep an eye out for QR codes on some of the monuments which will give you more information about some of the cemetery's residents when scanned with a smart phone.
Afternoon
Spend the afternoon at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saltaire, and take a stroll around the historic village. Thre's plenty to discover including the amazing architecture of Victoria Hall to beautiful Roberts Park down by the banks of the river. Remember to leave time to explore Salts Mill, which includes independent shops, cafes, a diner and the 1853 Gallery featuring works by David Hockney.
