The rich heritage of Bradford is brought to life in the many museums such as the Bradford Industrial Museum, Brontë Parsonage in Haworth and NT East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley. Also not to be missed is the magnificent architecture of Little Germany and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire.
Bradford is a place for all of the family to enjoy, the National Science and Media Museum offers interactive and educational exhibitions allowing children to explore science and the culture of light and sound. Want some fresh air? St Ives Estate in Bingley is a wonderful country park with woodlands and adventure playground. The family can take a day out to Ilkley and enjoy splashing around in the outdoor pool at Ilkley Lido.
For those of you who like fun activities and the great outdoors we are renowned for rolling hills and rugged moorland, and this all just a short journey from Bradford. A paradise for walkers and cyclists there are a fantastic selection of trails and paths, so you can blow the cobwebs away and enjoy the fresh air and amazing views.
City of Culture 2025 Bradford has an eclectic mix of arts, entertainment and cultural venues. The Alhambra Theatre which has stood in Bradford for over one hundred years, today hosts some of the UK’s top shows. The city is also home to a great number of community theatres like The King's Hall in Ilkley that feature regional theatre companies and amateur shows.
There are some fantastic shopping experiences to be had across the Bradford district, from high street brands or quirky independents. Visitors to the city centre can shop till they drop in the impressive Broadway shopping centre, or seek out a bargain in the Oastler Centre. In search of a unique gift? Stop off in Saltaire, Ilkley or Haworth and enjoy some quality independent shops in a beautiful setting.
