About
The ACE Bogs exhibition explores the intersection of art, science, and community engagement in peatland restoration.
As part of the ACE Bogs project, led by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust on the peatlands of Denton Reserve, it highlights the vital role of these habitats in storing carbon, reducing flood risk, protecting our drinking water and providing a home for wildlife.
Through the eyes of artists Sarah Smout, Juliet Klottrup, and Naseem Darbey, the exhibition presents creative responses to these landscapes, reflecting human connections to their transformation and recovery. Alongside artistic interpretations, scientific data and volunteer-led research offer new insights into peatland health.
Bringing together art, science, and community participation, the exhibition reveals the hidden stories of these fragile yet essential ecosystems.
