About

This summer enter a world of pure imagination with the award winning Upstagers Theatre Group as we bring the delicious family musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the King's Hall.

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination - including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator - all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is your golden ticket to the weird and wonderful world of Willy Wonka where nobody leaves the same way that they arrived!

Based on the iconic story by Roald Dahl, this spectacular stage show follows the hit West End and Broadway productions to combine the memorable songs from the original 1970’s motion picture (‘The Candy Man’ and ‘Pure Imagination’) with all new numbers from the multi award-winning songwriters of Hairspray. A show full of wonderful music, fabulous dancing and a mesmerising cast; this is a story that can be shared and loved through the generations.
