About
The Kids Zine Workshop offers a unique twist! Children will explore South Square Centre and use prompts to draw, write, and study their surroundings to create their own Zine.
Prompts include:
- Touch something rough – use a pencil to create a relief
- Draw something green
- Listen quietly for 30 seconds – write what was heard
- Find something that moves – write what was seen
Each child will receive a prompt sheet to use, and at the end, they'll fold it to make their own Zine. The group will then gather for a show and tell to share their discoveries.
This is a free event, with prompt sheets, pencils, and felt tips provided onsite.
For those unable to attend on Saturday, April 5th, prompt sheets will be available throughout the Easter Holidays (without the show and tell).
Timings:
- 10:30: Meet in the community room to grab a prompt sheet, pencils, and hear about the workshop
- 10:45: Explore the centre and get creative!
- 11:30: Meet back in the community room to finish the Zine and do the show and tell
