Celebrate Yorkshire Day in style with an unmissable event at Bradford Live on 1 August! The Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra will headline a spectacular concert, ‘Yorkshire Calling,’ at Bradford Live this newly restored 1930 Art Deco venue, now a vibrant entertainment hub.

As part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture celebrations, this event promises an evening filled with Yorkshire pride. Special guests include celebrated poet Ian McMillan, the BBC’s Bantam of the Opera Choir, and Leeds-based international concert pianist Yuanfan Yang. Under the baton of Ben Crick, the orchestra will perform ‘A Northern Score,’ featuring poems by Ian McMillan set to Ben’s original music.

Performance Highlights:

  • The Bantam of the Opera choir, featuring fans of Bradford City AFC, will perform opera, supported by the BBC Singers, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, opera singer Lesley Garrett, and sporting legend Chris Kamara.
  • Pianist Yuanfan Yang, an alumnus of the Leeds International Piano Competition, will also perform. The competition, a trailblazer in classical piano, held its 2024 finals at Bradford's St Georges Hall.

Bradford Live, operated by Trafalgar Entertainment, boasts a rich history and features an auditorium, ballroom, and restaurant. More details on its opening programme will be announced soon.

Join the wider Yorkshire Day celebrations in Bradford and Ilkley, marking the county’s rich heritage, culture, and identity. Established in 1975, Yorkshire Day is managed by the Yorkshire Society and commemorates historic contributions, including the 1298 Battle of Minden.
