2023 marks 100 years since 60103, Flying Scotsman entered service for the London and North Eastern Railway. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway are hosting the locomotive for the month of May and are excited to be marking the occasion with three prestigious dinners.

Set at the beautiful country station in Oxenhope, you will have the opportunity to enjoy fine dining in the Exhibition Hall, photo opportunities with plenty of time to get up close to Flying Scotsman, a guest after-dinner speaker and fantastic entertainment.

After-dinner guest speakers include legendary record producer and rail enthusiast Pete Waterman, who owned Flying Scotsman and will regale tales about owning the world’s most famous locomotive!

The black-tie dinners take place on 18th, 19th & 20th of May, and tickets start at £115; they can be booked online at www.flyingscotsman.co.uk .

Festival events across the month include a round trip along the Worth Valley behind Flying Scotsman, a once-in-a-lifetime journey and one to tell the grandchildren about. Over 10,000 tickets have already been sold; extra tickets will be released for the sunset specials. You can also purchase tickets to climb onboard the footplate of the famous locomotive, see the controls and feel the heat from the fire before walking through the famous corridor tender.

The real train enthusiasts can take a tour through the locomotive works at Haworth with one of the railway's knowledgeable volunteer guides and finish the tour off in the yard with Flying Scotsman, perfect for photos with the locomotive in its natural environment.

Noel Hartley, Business and Ops Manager said ‘We are very excited to be hosting Flying Scotsman this year, in particular to be doing it in such style with our prestigious dinners and fantastic train ride days. We’ve put a wide range of events on for every budget and taste, hoping that as many people as possible in our area can help celebrate the Centenary with us.’
