This year’s finalists in the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards have been announced this week, and Bradford Cathedral is one of the five finalists in the ‘Culture Award’ category. In 2022, Bradford Cathedral was shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tourism’ category.
Tucked away in serene gardens, this hidden gem is Bradford's oldest place of worship, showcasing the city's rich history. As an Anglican Cathedral, it hosts various services, events, and educational visits. Visitors are welcome from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 and 16:00, to explore the stunning Morris & Co textiles, admire the intricate stained glass, and discover the monuments that tell the story of Bradford.
The Cathedral has been nominated for many previous awards including:
- Welcome to Yorkshire ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ 2020
- Eco congregation status
- Council for Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Mark
- Museums+Heritage Awards ‘Best Use of Digital - UK’ (2022, shortlisted)
- Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards - 2022 – Outstanding Contribution to Tourism (Finalist)
The winners will be announced at an event to be held on Monday 4th December 2023.
