Ilkley Manor House reopens its doors to visitors later this month with a full programme of interesting events and activities, the highlight of which is a remarkable exhibition of paintings by Dudley Edwards.

Edwards first came to prominence in the 1960s customising cars and furniture, most notably Paul McCartney’s iconic ‘Magic Piano’ and the facades of buildings like London’s Lord John boutique at 43 Carnaby Street. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr both commissioned Edwards to paint murals in their homes.

"We are thrilled to be hosting this exhibition," says Sarah Thomas, Chair of the Ilkley Manor House Trust. "Entitled ‘Beauty’, the exhibition will showcase a collection of Dudley’s work that has evolved and transformed over decades, reflecting the artist's unwavering dedication to his craft. It is definitely one not to be missed."

Ilkley Manor House’s spring programme commences on Friday 23 Feb with a fascinating coffee morning talk about the English longbow in medieval Europe, with the House itself reopening each weekend from Saturday 24 Feb. ‘Beauty’, Dudley Edwards’ exhibition of paintings, runs from 2 Mar – 28 Apr on Saturdays and Sundays (11am – 4pm). Many of the works will be for sale and admission is free. Edwards will also be giving a talk and Q&A on Friday 15 March (7–9pm); tickets can be purchased via ilkleymanorhouse.org
