Award-winning best-selling author Anna Mazzola will be visiting Haworth’s Independent Bookshop Wave of Nostalgia to launch The Book of Secrets – her fifth novel.
At 7PM on Wednesday 27th March she will be signing books and reading from her latest crime novel with a feminist edge set in seventeenth century Rome: Rome, 1659: Months after the plague has ravaged Rome, men are still dying in unnatural numbers and their corpses do not decay as they should. The Pope asks prosecutor Stefano Bracchi to find the truth. His investigations lead him to midwives, fortune tellers, abused women, horror and magic. In a city made by men for men, women have no easy paths out and Bracchi will be left wondering if certain deeds should remain forever unpunished…
The Book of Secrets is inspired by real events that took place in 17th century Italy.
Wave of Nostalgia, Winner of the Northern Region Independent Bookshop of the Year, loves to champion strong women. Owner Diane Park is really looking forward to welcoming Anna to Haworth. She says “Anna is an inspirational woman in her own right. I love her chilling, mesmerising and darkly delicious historical thriller and particularly the strong female characters”. She adds “For anyone who can’t make it to Haworth for the event, we will also be sharing the event on Zoom”
The event is at 7PM on Wednesday 27th March 2024 at Wave of Nostalgia, 74 Main Street, Haworth BD22 8DP and on Zoom.
