Baildon Walkers are Welcome is delighted to launch a new publication of 6 walks for people to self-guide, all starting and finishing at the Potted Meat Stick in the centre of Baildon. The new book was launched on Monday (8 July) at a celebration held at Wesleys Community Hub at Baildon Methodist Church.

The book completes the trilogy of walks-books produced by Baildon Walkers are Welcome – the others being “Six Walks for Self-Guiding from Bracken Hall” and “Six Walks for Self-Guiding from Baildon Station”.  Each of the books contains 6 walking routes of varying lengths, in the countryside around Baildon.

Bob Davidson, Chair of Baildon Walkers are Welcome, said: “Our aim is to encourage and support residents and visitors to enjoy walking in the lovely countryside around Baildon, whether on the guided walks we offer, or through the publications that allow people to choose the time, direction, and pace of their walks when it suits them. We are very grateful to both Baildon Mechanic’s Institute Charity and Baildon Town Council for financial support that has made the publication of the latest book possible.”

Baildon Town Councillor Bill Wyatt- Millington welcomed the new book and thanked the group for their work promoting Baildon as a walking area. “ The Town Council is pleased to be supporting a group that contributes a lot to this community .”

The walks books can be purchased from the Baildon Walkers are Welcome stall at the Baildon Carnival on Saturday 13 July, or from Baildon Library, Trek and Trail in Salts Mill, Higher Ground Café, or Five Rise Locks Café.  There is a special Carnival Day offer of all 3 books at the discounted rate of £8.
