A special Winter edition of Saltaire Inspired’s popular Saltaire Makers Fair returns to Victoria Hall on Sat 26 & Sun 27 October, showcasing the UK’s finest contemporary craft and design.

Victoria Hall will be filled with 70 top designer-makers from across the UK, showcasing a range of handmade contemporary craft and design chosen for its quality and originality. After receiving a record number of applications, organisers Saltaire Inspired have extended this event to three rooms, making this their largest standalone Makers Fair outside of the annual May Arts Trail weekend.

Makers Fair Producer Samantha Pickard explains more about the arts charity’s selection process: “We recruit a panel of independent curators to help us select the exhibitors for each Makers Fair, and focus on making sure that the range of work on display remains fresh, varied and interesting. For this special Winter edition, over a third of exhibitors are new to our Makers Fair events. We can’t wait to welcome them to this wonderful venue in Saltaire and to our Makers Fair, which has a reputation for presenting the UK’s finest contemporary craft and design”.

Visitors will be able to browse and buy from a stunning selection of limited edition prints, jewellery, ceramics, glass, wood, textiles, and mixed media. Selected exhibitors will be running family-friendly demonstrations, giving visitors a chance to see their techniques in action, ask questions, and even try their hand.

Saltaire Makers Fair is open from 11am – 5pm on Saturday 26 October and 10am – 4pm on Sunday 27 October. Entry is just £3 (under 16’s free). A pop-up café will be open throughout the weekend and the popular Art Tombola will run on both days. Information on the event and all exhibitors can be found at the Saltaire Inspired website - www.saltaireinspired.org.uk.
