This Christmas, East Riddlesden Hall is ready to enchant visitors with a warm, festive welcome as its 17th-century interiors are transformed for the season. From 23 November, the historic National Trust manor on the outskirts of Keighley invites guests to explore the property, with each room given merry makeovers with handcrafted ornaments and beautiful festive displays.
In honour of East Riddlesden Hall’s 90th year with the National Trust, this season promises an extra-special celebration. The transformation has been a collaborative effort with local community groups, bringing a unique, hand-made touch to each festive display.
“East Riddlesden Hall is magical at Christmas, with its flickering candlelight and the welcoming charm of a family home,” said Hester Pode, Welcome Manager. “We’re thrilled to share that experience with our visitors this season, who will feel the warmth and beauty of Christmas in every room.”
But the holiday magic at East Riddlesden Hall doesn’t stop with decorations. The estate will host an array of seasonal events, including traditional carol performances, Mrs Claus telling festive tales in the Great Hall, hands-on festive wreath workshops, and the much-loved Christmas market in the Airedale Barn. The market returns bigger than ever this year, featuring a wide selection of beautifully crafted gifts and decorations from local artists and makers.
“The Christmas market is a true highlight, and we’re excited to welcome even more local artists this year,” added Pode. “Each market is filled with festive spirit, and it’s wonderful to see visitors supporting the talented makers.”
