About

Discover the beauty of Roberts Park, a green space created by William Gay in 1871 and later gifted to Bradford Corporation by the Roberts family in 1920. Originally known as Saltaire Park, it was renamed in honour of Sir James Roberts' son. Sir James, a prominent local businessman, managed the Salts textile empire and donated the statue of Sir Titus Salt, the founder of Saltaire village. Both the park and village were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Situated on the River Aire's northern bank, the park is linked to Saltaire village by a footbridge.

Roberts Park is the perfect place for family fun, with a picnic area, playground, skate park, tree-lined promenade, bandstand, alpaca statues, cricket ground, and the Half Moon Café. Plus, it hosts exciting events like World Heritage Day, the Saltaire Festival, Bradford Dragon Boat Festival, and bandstand performances.

Recognised with the Green Flag Award, it’s a must-visit for nature lovers and history enthusiasts.
