About

BD: Is LIT returns to Bradford City Centre on 7 & 8 November, transforming the streets into a vibrant playground of light, sound, and performance. In collaboration with Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, this free festival invites you to explore the colour of light and rediscover your city through the eyes of local, national, and international artists.

Expect a magical mix of:

  • Worstedopolis: A breathtaking projection onto City Hall celebrating Bradford’s textile heritage.

  • Monolith: A towering light sculpture pulsing with colour and sound, anchoring the festival’s futuristic vibe.

  • Rainforest Butterflies: A shimmering, immersive experience in Norfolk Gardens.

  • The BD Dazzler: A dazzling Asian truck art installation bringing bold colour and culture.

  • Phenix: A glowing bird sculpture outside St George’s Hall.

  • Spark!: High-energy street theatre with rhythm and light.

  • Sonic Swirl and Silence: A captivating new installation at Loading Bay.

From large-scale installations to immersive theatre and awe-inspiring light and sound artworks, BD: Is LIT promises something for everyone — and it’s absolutely free.
